Highland Landscapes, Wildlife & Scenic Murals

Every Highland landscape mural I paint draws on the scenery, wildlife, and character of the Scottish Highlands. For example, I paint Highland cows grazing in heather, lochs, glens, and the coastline of the North Coast 500. Homes, holiday lets, and outdoor spaces love these murals for the sense of place they bring to a wall. That might mean a stag on a garden shed, or a full loch-side scene in a garden room.

Many clients commission a Highland landscape mural for holiday cottages and Airbnbs. Guests respond well to art that reflects the surrounding countryside. Other clients want something closer to home. For instance, that could be a favourite walking route or a local landmark. Or perhaps a beloved pet, set against the hills around them. How I approach a Highland landscape mural

Every Highland landscape mural starts with a conversation about the space and what you want it to say. That might be a specific view, a favourite animal, or simply the feeling of the hills and coastline. I work from photos, sketches, or a site visit, then put together a concept before any paint goes near the wall.

Most pieces take one to a few days on-site, depending on scale and detail. I finish exterior murals with weatherproof paints suited to the Highland climate, so they hold their colour through wind, rain, and salt air on coastal projects. For interior pieces — garden rooms, holiday cottage walls, nurseries — I choose materials to suit the room and how you’ll use it. Whether you want a single feature wall or a full exterior piece, I’ll talk you through timing, materials, and cost before anything is booked in.

If you’ve got a wall in mind, get in touch and I’ll talk through what’s possible for your space.
